The Income Tax Department (Income Tax Department) has launched a site named NSDL (National Securities Depository) under Digital India for the logo, so that you can take advantage of this facility from any corner of India.

Note: If your Aadhar card is already made and it is linked with your registered mobile number and email id then you do not need to submit any other document. It automatically fetches your data from your Aadhar card.

Step 1:

To apply for a Pan Card online, you must first go to the official website of NSDL After visiting this link, select the option “Apply Online”.

Step 2:

Now you have to fill in your details below and click on the “Submit” button.

Application type – Here New PAN – Select “Indian Citizen (Form 49A)” option and if you live abroad then select Foreign Citizen (Form 49AA).

Category – Select Individual in this.

Applicant Information – In this section you have to fill your personal information like, first name, last name, middle name, date of birth, mobile number (Aadhaar card registered mobile number) email id. And then enter the captcha code and click on submit button.

Step 3:

In the next step, save the Token Number given on the screen somewhere and click on “Continue with PAN Application Form”.

Step 4:

On this page you will see initially three options-

Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-Sign (Paperless) – If your Aadhar card is updated and linked with a mobile number.

Submit scanned images through e-Sign – In this option you have to upload the scanned documents.

Forward application documents physically – Here you have to go to the post office and send the documents to the Income Tax Department.

From the above options, we will choose the first one, as it is very easy and you do not even need to upload any separate document.

  1. After this, “Yes” to the Physical Pan Card.
  2. Enter the last four digits of your Aadhar card.
  3. If you have a photo on your Aadhar card and you want it on a PAN card then select “Yes”.
  4. Name as per Aadhar card – Not required.
  5. After this fill your personal information like- first name, last name, middle name, date of birth, mobile number (Aadhaar card registered mobile number)
  6. Have you ever been known by any other name? – No
  7. In Parents Details, if you want your father’s name, then fill in his information and if you want to get your mother’s name printed on a PAN card, then by entering Mother’s Name (Optional) and selecting Mother’s Name below, click on “Next” button.

Step 5:

On this page you have to add your Contact Details and Source of Income.

Source of Income – Income from Other sources (As per your choice)

Residence Address – Not needed because of the Aadhar card.

In the last, enter the Telephone Number & Email ID details and click on “Next”.

Step 6:

Here you have to enter the details like Area code, AO type, Range code, AO No etc. But if you do not know all this, then you do not need to panic.

On the same page, select “Indian Citizen” and enter State – City and select the nearest AO code from the list fetched in the column and click on “Next” button.

Note: Choose between AO Number 1 or 2.

Step 7:

Select Himself / Herself on the Declaration Form and click on “Submit” by entering the name of your City/Village instead of Place.

Step 8:

In step 4 you had entered the last 4 digits of Aadhaar, now you have to check the preview of the application form once by entering the first 8 digits.

If everything is correct then click on “Proceed”.

Step 9:

Pay Rs 106. You can also pay online through Paytm, Debit/Credit card.

Your application form has not been submitted yet, so be patient.

Step 10:

As I told you, the mobile number and email that you submitted should match with the details of your Aadhar card, only then you can apply your PAN card.

Step 11:

On payment, click on the “Authenticate” button to check Aadhaar and PAN details. If the mobile number and email match, then in the next step, you have to verify the application by entering SMS-OTP on the registered mobile number.

Note: If Authentication fails then your paid money will be refunded to you within 7 days. If the page of E-Sign is opened after OTP verification, then you should verify it and Proceed it.

Your Pan Card has been ordered online, you will get PVC PAN Card within 10 days at the address given on the basis.
